1st Truck: 1989 Dakota, reg cab, long box, 2wd, 3.9L. Loved it
2nd Truck: 1991 Dakota, reg cab, long box, 4X4, 5.2L. Loved it even more and will always remember asking my wife to marry me while sitting on the tailgate one September night. Wife's still here but the truck is long gone.
Took 11 years to get one again. See sig

2010 Chevy 1500 crewcab 4x4 now I got a 2014 f150 screw 3.5 ecoboost 5.5 box 4x4 max tow and there really is no comparison the ford out performs the chevy hands down in towing and everything, And I work at the truck plant in Fort Wayne. I'll NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY TRUCK. I am completely satisfied.

I'll just go back 3 vehicles.
2002 Chevy S-10 crew cab. Put 200,000 miles on it, the most expensive vehicle to maintain that I ever owned. Many major repairs.
2005 Ford Explorer, took this over from my wife who got a new car when I got tired of fixing the S-10. Put 200,000 miles on it, general maintenance needed only, except for 1 alternator. Very low cost to maintain. One of the best vehicles I have ever owned.
2009 F-150 is my current driver. Just rolled over 100,000 miles which means no more warranty as it came with certified used car warranty to that mileage. So far for the 40,000 miles i have owned it for, it has had these parts replaced: heater blend door actuator, climate control module, both cam phaser solenoids, transmission cooler lines, rear pinion seal, and the right exhaust manifold. Hope the next 100,000 miles goes better. Needs brakes all around now for the second time since I have owned it, that is next weeks project. Oh, and it needs a new power steering hose pretty soon, it is leaking, as many do.

The last F-150 I got rid of was a 1985. I sold it in Hawaii in 1998 when I was leaving there for my next duty station with the Navy. 4x4s are worth a fortune in Hawaii and it didn't make much sense to bring it back stateside. of course, I bought another F-150 as soon as I could.
