What are you using as a phone holder?
My 2010 FX2 has the Sync, which is a pain to use over USB initially, and it barely charges the phone battery. Bluetooth works great but on the display it just says "Bluetooth Media Stream" rather than displaying the artist and song like it would over USB. Figure a phone holder would solve that issue.
What have you found works well without being too gawdy or instrusive? Wish there was something to take the place of that ugly coin holder where the 4x4 controller would normally go.
Thought about making my own block that would slide into the little cubby hole beneath the 12V outlet on the passenger side.

This is a nifty little holder. It sticks to any surface with 3M and you put a metal plate on your phone or cover. I put it between my phone and cover...it still works great.
It can turn & swivel for the best position for you.

I looked at the cup holders. I preferred the other mount because I can see the road past it, which is useful for using some gps apps....or other things so I don't have to look away from the road.
Also, with it being magnetic, the phone just snaps in place and I just grab it to go...no adjustments necessary.

I'd like to but then Siri doesn't hear me I can ask the weather for tomorrow...you name it...without touching or looking at the phone. Doesn't happen when my phone is tucked in at my waist. Was the ONLY reason I got the cup phone holder.
