What year should i choose?
I plan on trying to find a 6th,7th,8th gen. f150 to build up. I have found a couple im interested in trying to build and i have no idea which to choose. I have found a two 79s with 351s in them, and 84 with a 300 and a 86 with a 351, and a 91 f150. Which generation should i choose? is there anything i should look for when going to look at the trucks? Im planning on swaping in either a fully built 351 or possibly a 460 in which ever one i choose at somepoint in the build

My favorite ford trucks are the early 60's flaresides. Out of your options though i would go with the 84 or the 86 as a mud truck or trail truck type build and the 79 as a bad *** daily driver. I own an 89 which is practically the same as the 91 and I love that too. It just depends on what you want to do. You can't really go wrong with any ford truck though.

Don't go with the 91. Go pre-computer for restoring and swapping engines. Much less hassel. Plus with those old trucks you can pretty much sit on the inner fender well to work on the engine!
Not only that, if you go with a 70's or 80's, you have something desireable. 90's aren't really "classics" yet.
