What Tonneau to get?

What tonneau to get
Whatever "flips" your skirt up. The UnderCover weighs in at about 55-pounds and can be removed by one person in about 5 minutes. Primarily what I haul in the truck does not require height. I have a 16-trailer for loads that won't fit under my cover. I used to have a watch that said "water-tight." It wasn't.
If you get the bak-flip why don't you make post on how it does in a downpour? The old hose sprinkling test or a sprinkle will not determine whether it leaks or not. I had a good looking folding cover on my last truck and when it poured my cargo would get slightly wet.

In the past 20 years or so I haven't had the need to haul something while away on a trip that would require me to remove the cover. What I am saying is that I have owned both and prefer the type that raises over the type that flips. Why?
1. Cleaner appearance
2. Definitely more water tight
3. It provides better security for personal cargo
4. It is easier to keep clean
5. It is more sturdy (four grown men can stand on it)
6. There is no sag in the middle (folding covers usually hold some water on top)
7. It has a light for night time ops
The bottom line is to fit ones needs or desires.
The thread topic was a question regarding which cover to buy. Perhaps the op should have stated his needs or at least give some perimeters. In any case I have enjoyed talking about covers with you guys. When I buy something like this I shop around to see what is available then read every review I can find on each one.

I ended up getting a bakflip too it is not totally waterproof but it is enough that I would not worry to much about putting anything in the back. I also got the bakbox it is nice but I would not spend $250 bucks on one. I got a used one for about $125 and that is about what one is worth IMO. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I almost got the undercover but like you I liked the idea of being able to haul something without having to worry about where am I going to put this undercover while I haul this stuff.

It's a 'Trifecta' by Extang.

Dealer installed mine as part of a package deal. I paid $300, 25 months ago.
I see they have a 'deluxe' model now with canvas on top. Seems like THAT would be hard to keep clean from road salt stains.

I have the "premium" Trifecta, and while the canvas top does attract dirt a little more readily than a vinyl one would, pollen and dirt hose off easily and don't leave any water stains.
I love how easily it goes off and on, and hasn't leaked at all in the past two months of use.

I agree, it really depends on what you want to use your truck for as there is a cover out there for just about any type of use!
