It always surprises me when someone feels the need to define what the "purpose" of a truck is and there are no other possibilities other than their definition. Not that I or anyone else needs to defend what I have it for, or what I want to do with it, but to rant about how the atrocities of not fulfilling it's purpose in life is just a waste of time. I need that 30 seconds back I spent reading this, and even typing this.

I almost had a lowered truck this go round. I was looking at a 2wd, and had I bought it I promise it would've been on a 3/5 drop at least. If you set them up properly they still function EXACTLY the same. They can still tow and haul, look great to me, handle better than lifted (center of gravity is lower), easier to work under the hood, easier to load things into, etc. I've got a leveled truck on 33's that has seen some rock crawling, my last truck was leveled on 35's and saw mud. Any of these below look like they're useless now? I'm in the camp of do what you want. If you like it, who cares if anyone else does? Do what you like and screw everyone else because its YOUR truck.
This is actually go-on3's truck who is a member on here.

If I have to explain it you wouldn't understand...

Some of the responses to the OP's post are pretty troubling.

The OP posts his opinion about lowered trucks in a thread... is he not free to do that? Maybe it wasn't the most eloquent way to make his point, fine. Other people are allowed to express themselves through their lowered trucks, but someone expresses themselves through speech, and if it's not the popular opinion... it's immediately "SILENCE HIM!" "YOU CANNOT SPEAK!" Wow. It's just like politics. How dare somewhere share a different viewpoint than your own. "Oh he doesn't think like me! CRUSH HIM!"

Only a few people offered any reasonable thought out response to OP's intended point. Everybody else just goes straight into mob mentality, throwing out anecdotal stories about what their neighbors are doing, assumed facts, and just plain trying to immediately shut down the conversation. The responses to this post were really an eye opener. I'll be sure to censor myself from now on and make sure I only post things that I know everyone will agree with.

It's pretty interesting, many of you telling him he shouldn't judge other people's trucks, but sure looks like your judging other people's opinions.

Don't care to start more of a pissin' match, but I got the feeling this was just a different slant on the Ego/Coyote, er, Coyote/Ego debate.
I've seen the lifted/lowered debate before as well, never comes out to anything more than, my this, my that, is better than your this, your that.
I thought some of the responses were quite humorous really.

When you come out of the gate swinging, you're going to get people swinging back.

I happen to agree with some of the OP post. But the larger point being made here, -it's not about that.

Obviously. But my point is the same. If people can ask the OP "Why do you care so much about what other people do to their trucks" then I can ask "Why do you care so much about what OP thinks about other people's trucks?"
