I'm looking for a 3rd vehicle that will be used only during large snow storms (we live on a private road) or when I need to haul something (not often).

So i'm looking for a high mileage extended cab F150. I'm wondering what types of things I should look for when looking at high mileage trucks.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would definitely check out the entire 4wd system from top to bottom. Check all the fluid to see if they have been servicing the front / rear diffs, these often get overlooked. Maintenance records if they have them is a real plus. Spend $100, and take it to your mechanic for a good once over.

I would stay away from the 2004 and 2005 (I think that's the years) 5.4 engine. I heard a lot of problems with them and especially with the cam phasers.
