Idk if I would want to 4.6 or the 5.4 liter engine. What is the main difference. Does the 4.6 still have a decent enough power to get off the line?

5.4 all day. Every day. Exert 04 or 05. Those had bad cam phaser issues. The power and torque difference is outta sight. Im sure some numbers guy will comment with blah blah the numbers Brent that much more impressive.. Drive them both and see for yourself brother. The bigger motor has more power.

But that's only available in 09 and might be out of his price range. Could find a deal though.

I had a 4.6 in my 02 F150. It was a decent, dependable motor, but was a bit gutless. The only time not having enough power bothered me was when I was pulling a trailer. When I traded it in on my 2013, it had 116,000 miles and didnt use a drop of oil between changes and also never had a problem with it.

I had a '97 when the 4.6 first came out. At 70MPH this truck wouldn't move out of it's own way. Your mileage may vary.
