Got Old Bessie ready to receive her new rod bearings. Also gonna clean out everything inside the block while it's apart. Can't afford to replace everything, let alone upgrade, so we're just gonna stay stock, for now. I sure hope the crankshaft journals aren't scored...

Why don't you get a crank kit? All the work you are doing, for a few dollars more you could have a new bottom end and no worries.

Put some sand paper grip stuff on the tailgate as it gets so slippery when wet.
