Pretty simple, if the battery craps out, buy a new one. At that point, the battery itself isn't as important as to where it left you stranded, and a) if someone is near to give you a jump, b) you carry one of those badass little lithium ion jump packs from Costco for $60 or c) your straight SOL and have to hike out. I've already tested the jump pack in -3* weather the day before getting a new battery and it sits happily in my map pocket now since I frequent the woods alone. Unless a warranty covers a rescue vehicle that gives me a satellite phone for just in case it leaves me stranded, it's kinda a moot point. If you've ever been broke down or stranded I'm sure you'll realize you'd pay about anything for that one part to get you back on the road, and not thinking damn I glad I have a Walmart warranty....

Carry a jump pack and help others, it takes 2 mins out of your day.
