I usually wash my truck once a week, sometimes every other week in the summer, and as often as I can in the winter. Well I've been busy with school and the weather has been crap, so I washed it last night for the first time this YEAR. Realized how much junk was on the truck from the neglect so I woke up today, bought a clay kit, compound, polish, and some pads (already had wax). Washed the truck, clay barred it, started to compound it but realized I didn't need to (paint was pretty good after clay bar, and I didn't have a compound pad for the buffer and doing it by hand was pretty pointless), so I polished it and waxed by hand. Took around 5 hours. Still need to take care of some spots, but it's much better than before. Pics definitely don't do it justice

Pretty happy with the results. Sterling grey but you can't even tell in the first picture

Nice! you guys. kbrock, that is a great result! I often claybar just the top surfaces of my vehiculars... then throw a fast coat of whatever wax is around at the time. I'm not particular, but after seeing your truck (and iDrive's!) I may be changing my tune, there.

Haven't driven it today, but yesterday I drove south about half an hour to a machine tool supply for a set of gauge pins. I have a couple of single-action whirlenpoppers I'm trying to dial in for lead semi wadcutters and I needed to measure cylinder throats for diameter and the barrel bore for thread choke.

Stoned, how'd you do?

Put 6 new motorcraft spark plugs in the old EB today. Old ones were around .040" but several had discoloration at the end of the porcelain.

Default Old blue drove me crazy

Me and old blue, my 97 f150 4.2 sat in driveway and tried to work out her runner control problem she doesn't wanna close. Anyway after testing all parts I can only think that bank 2 s ACTUATOR with the rod is bad
which sucks but I enjoyed it kinda not

It's definitely a time consuming task, I'm still sore from it a day later lol. I gotta say, it was the first time using a buffer and I was very nervous I was going to ruin the paint from it getting to hot or whatever, it was really fast and I didn't noticed the adjustment on the bottom of it (I've used it before, for some reason forgot) so I did the hood on the fastest setting but then slowed it down which allowed me to take my time and do proper passes. Super easy and with a dual action, the risk of ruining the paint is slim to none, assuming you don't just hold it on one spot. I'm not even sure if I did the steps right and I'm sure if I used a compound with the buffer it would take some minor scratches out, but overall it came out great. My fingers just glide right over the paint and it's hard to not just keep touching the paint because it's so smooth lol. Well worth the time and effort

Default Leveled, Finally....

After looking at those clay bar and wax results I am wondering when I will accomplish those tasks, love the shine.

For now, at least I got her stance fixed.

First real spring weekend we had where I live - washed it from 10 to 4 on Saturday. It got the ''royal treatment''. Interior fully washed. Exterior pre-washed, washed, decontaminated with clay-bar, scratch removed, and completely waxed.

Didn't get the courage to buff it before waxing it as I would normally do. Super Crew with the 6.5ft box is a lot of surface area to clean.... I woke up sore on Sunday! lol

No pictures unfortunately, but it's looking even better than when I picked it up at the dealership last summer.
