It's not the water flowing over the road that becomes the biggest problem (well, unless it's deep enough to push you downstream, which may not take as much as you'd think), but the water flowing under the pavement. When Tropical Storm Irene came through Vermont a number of years ago, I got to see first-hand a lot of roadway where the only thing left was pavement over several feet of air. Obviously that doesn't work so well if you put a truck on it.

Not the case here thankfully since the reason for the flooding is frozen tundra. There are cricks that are overflowing and going over and around the bridges, and moving at a decent enough pace to send a small car into the crick.

I'm sitting on the couch staring at 2 brand new 5100's that can't be installed because it pouring rain. Not expected to let up till Monday.
