Search this forum for "Mike Berkemann"! You'll never drive through a flooded area again!
Mike Berkemann haunts me in my dreams. I don't know if he ever dried out.

Yup! 'Ole Mike is a legend in these parts!
Put a new muffler underneath her.
Nothing to crazy, as I'm not interested in waking the kids in the morning, but wanted a nice deep tone.
The before video is deceiving, because it doesn't sound too bad, but believe me, it was absolutely silent.

LOL no, water was 6" deep, just happened to only be on the passenger side, but wound up splashing up and over the roof. On the way home had to drive through 3 flood areas with 3-8" of water, but with all 4 wheels. Made a nice wave going through them, bet no more salty residue is left anywhere on my truck now.
Some areas near me are completely under water, there is one place that has a pond, and the ice that was on the pond is now 2 feet above the pond. Several roads are closed since water is FLOWING over them, not just sitting like the ones I went through.

Hold my beer
Used the truck to give the Mrs. a ride to and from work so I could take advantage of a 60 degree rainy Michigan winter day and play mechanic. 09 body style Malibu's are garbage btw. Thankfully, I didn't run into any problems. Having all the right tools makes a world of difference. Saved $800 doing this myself so I can't complain too much.

It's not the water flowing over the road that becomes the biggest problem (well, unless it's deep enough to push you downstream, which may not take as much as you'd think), but the water flowing under the pavement. When Tropical Storm Irene came through Vermont a number of years ago, I got to see first-hand a lot of roadway where the only thing left was pavement over several feet of air. Obviously that doesn't work so well if you put a truck on it.
ehhh...blank post.
