I would venture to say that's all better than hitting a deer. It's like an obstacle course in my neck of the woods...

The armadillo package. Slow moving and covered in a weird...mushy mess.

Yep. Buddy of mine has hit three deer in the last year or so. One in his SRT Jeep and two in the last few months in his new SRT Durango. Those SRT headlights cost an arm and a leg.

The obstacle course!! Before I retired, I'd leave the house at 0430 at the latest. 35 miles of deer, the occasional bear, elk, or feral hog. Sometimes it was daylight when I came home. More deer, and turkeys then. I actually only saw two turkey splats all those years. One of them I got. I also got an elk with the big truck, and the turkey.

You know, for as much driving I have done in Northern MI , I have never seen any of those things. I would love to watch a bear in its natural environment...from a distance.

LOL, I have the bloody things in my yard every spring, and in the trash, have to keep the can in the barn then. Bears are just about invisible in the dark, unless your lights hit their eyes.
I agree though, I like to see them along with the other critters, but prefer them and the coyotes in someone elses backyard. I've even seen the rare wolf sighting in broad daylight, maybe 8 or 9 times.
You gotta figure, in 6 years I put out 650- 700 thousand miles out there. Some of it on the edge of the seat. A couple times, sat a few inches higher in the seat by the time I got back.

This morning got to drive through flooded roads. One was deep enough to cover the truck from the roof down as I splashed through it. It's funny, the ones you hit with one side only get more water on and over the truck, than the ones you drive completely through!

Speaking of bears,
Took this one last year.
