You'd be amazed at how much stuff doesn't get stocked anymore in any industry.
The more stuff they stock, the more it affects their monthly numbers. They stock as little as possible. It costs them nothing but an inconvenienced customer to order a part and make you wait for it to come in. If things don't sell quickly, like everyday, they don't often get stocked. I worked in dealerships for 11 years as a technician, trust me, having to work on a vehicle multiple times instead of just once is a pain in the rear for the technician too. Instead of bringing a vehicle in, diagnosing it, replacing the part, and shipping it out, I now have to see it multiple times, it's a big waste of time, and that means less pay.

Funny you should mention that. When I had my shudder issues the engineer requested the truck be moved to a different dealer, essentially citing their incompetence as the reason why. The service manager of that dealer was a total a-hole and was quite verbal about how he is tired of fixing the other dealerships problems. So, rather than deal with that ***** I went back to my original dealer. I had gone to both when I ordered the truck, the price difference was around $200, so I went with the cheaper one, $200 can buy some mods right? Had I known I was going to have all these issues I would have gone to the more expensive dealer whom has younger and more technically capable techs.
Don't Touch the Trim
Took 780lbs of crap that blew down out of the trees during the windstorm on Saturday to the dump. I was surprised at how much the load weighed since it didn't feel heavy on the drive to the dump. Just a smooth controlled ride, much smoother than an empty bed.

Wow, what a night mare. I used to live in SW Virginia (I went to Radford University and my wife is from Giles County). We always had issues with finding a decent mechanic or dealership in that area. The best mechanic we worked with was from my wife's home town. His skills weren't top notch, but he was honest and would work with you with pricing, payments, etc.
