spent several hours under the F-150 chasing wires from the back tank forward and found the wire lum running along the driver side rail was melted. All the wires of which there were seven wires were all melted together. I had to cut out the melted part and use butt connectors to reconnect to good wire. I had to cut out a 3 inch section that was melted.

After i finished i started the truck and low and behold my rear tank is showing on the gas guage now, yea!. Now i have to fill the front tank and then switch the tank to the rear and make sure the rear tank is reading less than the front tank. But it is working now and it felt good to do it my self and fix it.
