F150 vs Tundra vs Titan
I'm in the market for my first pick-up (new) and would appreciate some opinions on the F150 vs the Tundra and Titan. CHevy, GMC and Dodge aren't in the run since I won't buy and vehicles from a gubmint owned company.
I've driven Toyota cars for a long time, but it seems the Tundra has some problems that might knock them out of the running.
So I'd appreciate some serious feedback on Ford trucks- good/bad points, finicky behavior of any, etc. Simply ragging on the other brands isn't very productive.
Thanks in advance.

Let the Fun Begin
Before i just bought my f150 i was contemplating buying a Tundra since I owned a 4runner, and loved it!. My first impresion of the tundra from standing outside was...wow...this is a pretty big truck (crew). Then i sat in it, and it def is big too. Then i noticed that this truck was just like a giant Corolla! It seemed tinny, and lacked any substance. It felt like they took a corolla, and blew some air into it , and blew it up to a truck size! Even when i drove it, it just didnt feel like a solid truck. My 2004 4runner felt more like a truck then this thing did. Also, Toyota did some really stupid things with designing! Their rear seats fold down ok, so now i have like 1 foot of rear seats on the floor...what am i suppose to put in this now? (Fords rear seats fold up leaving a perfectly flat floor for extra loading) My new ford feels likt a truck! It feels solid and planted. Yeah it might not be the fastest off the line, but you knowif you want fast off the line...buy a sport bike

yea, those vids give some good insight. they didn't cover the titan & rick titus is a huge ford fan... but when it comes down to it, some good points are made.
also check out the pickuptrucks.com 2009 1/2 ton shootout. the F150 was overall pick. didn't win all the test by any means, but held it's own & have some very imp strongpoints.

and watch all the video's. theres 21 of them but it gives you a pretty good shakedown of ford and the other brands. of coarse it covers the fords strong points being a ford promotion but it is pretty fair.

Guy I worked with wound up buying a Titan. His son and I both drive very similar F150's. His only reason for getting the Titan was cost. He liked the F150, test drove a Ram, hates Chevy's, and test drove the Titan. He got the Titan because of the price, they cut him an awesome deal. He is now trying to tow a 25' trailer with it and he is not happy at all... He says that it pushes the truck around and feels uncomfortable on the road. His son pulled the trailer with his SCREW and he said it pulled like a dream, even with the smaller engine. I don't think it is because the titan is a extended cab and the F150 is a SCREW, just a better made vehicle for the job.
It all really depends on you, coming to a F150 site and asking what is best, well of course the F150. Go test drive each of them, that is my best opinion.

^^^ exactly, there was post in here before comparing the f150 to a H2 hummer, if you come to a ford website and ask what is best, well i think you already know what the answer is going to be

This is my first post on this site but since I had a 2004 Titan, 2007 Tundra and now a 2010 Ford F150 though I would add my two cents. The Titan I had was nice but seem to have a lot of production flaws. If you look at them closely they looked put together without quality. Now that was in 2004 and I would think they are better now. I remember rear axle issues, fit & finish problems and I can't remember others. The Tundra is an awesome Towing rig with lots of power. I do remember issues with the transmission with hard shifts, the dash was actually lowering in it and the brakes were soft at times at just over 30,000 miles. My F150 has the hard shifts but I am use to it with the 6 speeds. It is not as quick off the line but its not as slow as people on other forums comment. I haven't towed anything heavy so I can't tell you on the ford or titan towing ability. I also remember problems with the front diff in tundra's but I had 2wd so did not have that problem. I have a 4wd Crew and get almost 17mpg around town so I think that is great for a large 4wd. I am really impressed with the F150. Of course the Tundra and Titan have some good points as well.

If you're not sure, go with the history. The F150 is the best selling truck for 33 years. I've owned lots of them over the years and feel they are truly the best.
