Yup...I just noticed this as well! Trade in difference between my truck and a 2011 is $2200...of course that's assume the mileage is the same

You must have a 2wd Platinum cause my 4wd Lariat also comes to 42k private party and 38 something for trade.

most places arent going by Kelly blue anymore...theyre using that blackbook one whatever the hell its called and it gives significantly lower values. Alot of people are going in to the dealerships looking for kelly blue values when theyll only give black book values.

Yeh...it's called NADA. They have a website and you can check values prior to going in.

There is a "Black Book"...and if you get that price you will be screwed. The pricing they give is based on auto auction houses around the country to see what current dealers are paying for used autos. Those prices could be thousands under wholesale. It is based on "market value" instead of actual value.

Most dealers use Galves. AKA "gouge me" book. If they are using Blackbook or Galves I would run, not walk away from that dealer.

A new car store is going to be alittle soft on your truck, since they probably have 50 BRAND NEW ones that they can sell for less with all the rebates and dealer incentives. Don't expect to get a top dollar trade from them, they are there to make money and if they can do that PLUS make you happy.............they are happy, but the making money part comes first.

Market value is actual value.anything more is just fluff to make you think your getting a good deal on your trade. If they can buy 'your' truck at auction for $30K, why would they pay you more.
