Default Well I traded my Dodge 2500 Cummins for a new F150 today.

Best deal I've done in a long while. This is my first Ford ever. On the near 200 mile drive home today, I got 21.6 mpg from the new EB doing about the speed limit. It's a crew cab. Very quite, very comfortable, very good ride! I can't and won't say anything bad about the old Dodge! 13 years old and about 200,000 miles on her and it ran as good today going up to the dealer as she did the day I got it. It was just time. I hope to get some pics up tomorrow. Pretty pleased so far.

Good luck with your new EB. I would never have given up the Dodge. 200,000 is just broken in for a Cummins. My son owns 3 and one is coming up on a million miles.

Iknow what you mean Marc. I damn near cried when I left her. It was just economics though. Just no way I could afford to own two trucks. This commie state I live in charges sales tax on a new truck and personal property tax on it every year you own it. And ins. Just couldn't do it. Hope her new daddy takes good care of her!

Your gas milage will get better with time, My Screw has 3.73 gears and I am pulling a tad over 24 going the speed limit.

Congrats on the new truck but,

Can't wait to see em.

Wow! Had an uncle put 1M on a Freightliner. Crazy diesel engines.

So your Cummins Dodge was a 2000? I have a customer where i am who has a 1997 12 valve Cummins. Said he was getting 24 miles to the gallon before he put a 7" lift and 37" tires on it. What were you getting for mileage on yours?

I got 23 yesterday on the 200 mile trip to the dealer I traded with. About 5 years ago the wife and I took a month long trip out west. We were pulling a 26ft travel trailer through Colo. Utah, Montana, N Mexico and all around. Rocky Mountains, Big Horn Mountains. Any how, by the time we got home we'd put 6,000 miles on the truck and trailer. Avg. 14.8 mpg for the whole trip! I thought that was outstanding. Eastern Colo. and Kansas had some flat land thats for sure. But she'd climb those mountains in 4th gear and go down the back side in 3rd without having to ride the brakes. No matter how much I like the F150, I think I'm still gonna miss "Ol Shake, Rattle, and Hum" from time to time. Here she is on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mtn Natl Park at 12039 ft above sea level.

Wow thats sweet. I like my F150 no doubt but if I could get my hands on a low mileage 1996 thru 2002 12 or 24 valve cummins in decent shape. I would trade in a heartbeat. Actually been looking for one for a while in my area and cant find anything.
