I'll check that out in the morning before I spray any lube. Good thought.

Hey people smarter than me, here is a thought. When we do level kits, most say to unplug the EPAS (easier to unhook battery cables). Would this help John's issue? Maybe reset it??

If it is the EPAS, a reboot wont help. Been there, done that. It does sound like it could very well be the u-joints, there is plenty of it found on Google on other vehicles. Fingers crossed it is something as simple as that.

Checked out the steering, full lock left/right, sitting still, and didn't notice the binding. I sprayed both the U joints on the steering column with PB Blaster, and let it sit for a few minutes before I took off. Put close to 15 miles on it, and noticed no binding. It might be remedied, but I'm gonna put maybe 50 miles on it tomorrow so we shall see.
Thanks for the suggestion Robert!!
While I was in there, I noticed how much the angle is on the ujoint just above the EPAS, it's a pretty sharp angle, looks like about 75 degrees. That surprised me.

Thanks Jon, sounds too simple for some reason, but I'm hoping.

Good deal, I have to wonder how many racks got replaced and they slipped in a new shaft on the sly to make the customers happy. Helluva profit and a good used rack for them to sell elsewhere.

P.S. Spray some lube in there, pb blaster isn't gonna stay long and it's a poor lubricant.
