Took it out to see if rotating the tires did any good, it didn't. I'll be taking it in Friday morning.

Oh, it'll get fixed, I have a pretty good dealer, even it takes a little bit. Retired as you know, so have plenty of time. Plus I'll get a nice loaner. Hope it won't be a new Ranger though, that might take me over the top earlier than I really want.

Oh ya, things will work out, I'm concerned, but not worried about it. I'm just concerned about it being a safety issue, I know nothing about the EPAs, or what could go wrong.

By any chance have you sprayed the steering lower shaft between the firewall and rack? It has 2 u-joints that sometimes bind. Soak that sucker with WD40 or some sort of silicone spray lube and go do figure 8's in a field somewhere, see if that works.

No, I haven't, certainly worth a try, I'll do that in the morning. It would be great if that was the cure, pretty simple!

Was thinking about this earlier this afternoon as a possible cause. If it is though, it might be noticed during a full stop to stop turn as well.
