Weird steering cropped up
 

I'll start out saying, both front tires are inflated the same to 35#.
This thing I'm having trouble figuring out, the truck on any road, crowned one way or the other, and even perceived level, will sorta hangup with the steering with just normal corrections when driving straight. Even worse, it isn't just one side, it's both, intermittently.
I don't have lane keep assist, so I can rule that out. No obscene noises of any sort, I also know it has nothing to do with my IWEs.
Sorta reminds me of a tierod end binding up. I just turned 10K on this thing, so am having a hard time believing that is the problem. But we know how things go.
Is there some sort of electronic wizardry with the electric assist?

AHH, welcome to the world I had with the Red Devil! Sorry to say, I know exactly what you describe. Wheel feels like it is a bit sticky. Takes a tad more effort to move off center one way or another at random times. Hope yours doesn't start doing what the Devil's did and pull you one way or the other at random on a rough road. It's a problem with the EPAS centering that Ford says is normal. Funny, if normal, then why is the 18 not that way? :)

Oh, you're just a basket of good news. I hope it isn't a preview of the same problems you had, but, yepper, sounds like the same thing. Funny how I never noticed it before, on the same roads. Luckily it hasn't taken it on itself yet to pull me like that, just doesn't want me to slightly turn the wheel.

Sorry friend. I still have the old-school pump and fluid system.
But it's electronic power assist, meaning the trucks brain has some control over it, no? Maybe flash the PCM or look at it through forscan?

Betting it's a tire.

We had a similar problem with Ms.SPOAT's new car with tires less than 20K miles.

I have an excellent front-end guy. He tried to tell me it was a mystery tire, but I didn't believe him. He said you can have a weird tire, that looks perfect but will make the car track wrong.

Finally, purchased a new set of Toyo tires. Problem disappeared.

I know it doesn't seem possible with only 10K miles but the 1st thing I thought of was the tires. Could you have one of the wheels out of alignment? That's where I'd start.

If not I would say you have an issue with the EPAS. Dealer time.

Hmmm, it could be a tire, they've only got 1500 miles on them though. Think I'll get a hold of my dealer and at the least get an alignment done. Strikes me funny, I've never had a vehicle feel like this.

In our case, after ensuring the alignment was perfect, the car would do a funny hesitation then drift to the left.

That front-end guy said that sometimes you can swap front tires and it will cure it (if it’s a bad tire) but not always.

I just went went ahead and purchased new tires. Fixed it. Handles like new. The old tires were Dunlop’s. They are made by Goodyear.

I've personally had experiences with similar results. Radial wander/pull. Sometimes a Tires components get installed off spec during construction. Rotate the tires front to back and see how it feels.
