Default Water spots.

So today was warm enough to wash my truck for the first time in a couple months, there were a bunch of water spots on my hood and when I got done washing it the outline of them were still there. How do I get rid of these? I'm not a car washing expert by any means so laymen's terms with this stuff would help.
Here's some pictures of what they looked like before, after the wash only their outline was left but that wouldn't show up on my camera.

That's overkill for water spots, and extremely time consuming. don't let the truck sun dry. Keep it all wet until you're done, then dry it properly and quickly.

I agree with Joshg. You can try vinegar. I work at a dealership as a detailer and thats what we use. If a car has pretty bad water spots, we spray vinegar on a section of the car/truck let it sit for a little bit and wash it off. If that doesnt work we wash it, spray vinegar, clay bar, and re-wash. If that doesnt work, then we buff it. Remember to go in sections (truck box, passenger side, driver side, front fenders/hood/bumper). Be carefull, the clay bar can scratch the paint if you dont clean it while using it on the car/truck.

We do this for cars that have been sprayed with the lawn sprinklers or whatever. Dont let the car sun-dry. Be sure to dry it off with a squeegy and soft towel before the sun does it for you.

Excellent! Thanks guys I never would have thought to use vinegar. Also I'll go pick up a clay bar tomorrow and see how much that helps.
