Default Watch out for Fake Gift Card Offers

Apparently thread about the Target Gift card has been removed. Good! This is in fact offer from a known scam outfit called Market Labs. They also run their scams from other domains such as

E-Research Group
Red Top Savings
Public Research Panel
Consumer Opinion Group
Web Rewards Central

this is just the tip of the iceberg this outfit operates this scam from dozens of other such domains. Here are a just two of many ways they will screw you. One is they will charge you to open up some sort of an account for which you get something like a free Plasma TV, an Ipod, whatever, once you pay your money your account is, of course, denied and you are out whatever the account setup charge was. The other and more insidious ripoff if you sign up for one these ripoffs is you will start to see strange $1 dollar charges appear on you credit card statement. They will be for stuff like MP3 downloads, or a $1 dollar fee for signing you up for credit card application, the list go on and on. this scam almost always comes to you from Russia and Eastern Europe, it was started and is still largely controlled by the Russian Mafia, I am not kidding about this. They count on people not paying much attention to their CC statements. When you add up these monthly $1 dollar charges over thousands of accounts it adds up to a huge amount of money. We have seen here just in the last few days somebody getting snared by a fake E-Bay account, and today this gift card offer. The only protection you have from the Internet Wilderness is to educate yourself on all of the bear traps out there to separate you from your hard earned money.
