I actually found the front leveling kit made it ride better and handle better. I was surprised how much better.

only been on for a month but the traction wet and dry is impressive. They ride comfy and are quiet. Many F150 owners think a soft shock is the answer, but the stock Ford shocks are trash in my opinion. Most of the harshness is from the bottoming of factory shocks, and firmer shock can make a big change. Another point I'd like to make is the suspension will always be a compromise between ride/handling that varies with the speed of the vehicle. Personally I like crisp firm handling at highway speeds. Living in a small town I do little driving in slow traffic so I compromised ride below 35 MPH for much better handling and ride above 55 MPH. KM

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION:
Look up front spring and rear leaf codes on bottom center of door jamb label.
Mine is "SSAA"
S is front spring and A is rear leaf.
For 2017 4x4 2.7 with tow package (not HDPP / Max Tow).
S is a medium-light front spring from the factory.
A is the lightest of the 4 leaf options from the factory.
I mention this because it can be helpful to know what you have (ie: if you are fighting your suspension components for softness).
I leveled my truck with Fox 2.0 coil overs that use Eibach springs which are heavier than the factory springs I had.
I added Road Active Suspension to the rear.
Also, a RAM 2500 is a very different vehicle (rating and suspension).
Get all the info because you want to minimize saying "I should have done...."

Smaller wheels and more tire might help depending on what tires you currently have vs what you put on afterwards.
decent set of shocks will help. I can’t recommend a better shock then Fox 2.5’s that’s normally out of the normal budget for most.
A solid second place would be the Ford performance Fox 2.0’s followed by the regular Fox 2.0’s. For stock height, maybe 4600’s but not a fan of throw away shocks.

I LOVE my ride, especially compared to what it was. Different vehicle.
Before as stock, it rolled, dived, skipped, and was mushy in an uncomfortable way.
I have 20" OEM rims with stock sized 275/55R20 Cooper Discoverer AT3 that I run 35-36 PSI.
I would like 33" or 33.5" (or even possibly 34"?) but I don't want wider than stock 10.8". My concerns are ride quality, acceleration, MPGs.
My daily driving conditions (45 miles minimum round trip) have 20 miles of mostly forested, winding, twisting hills and valleys at 20-40 mph with sections of patched/repaired from roots and water erosion. This is the most challenging of my drive and what dictates my tire/suspension concerns. My other 20 miles are mostly rural highway and not much more than 2-5 miles city.
I enjoy the performance gain from the larger rims and thinner rubber because...driving should be fun. I use a throttle booster to give me "drive-by-wire" performance. I do this not for highway/city driving, but because of the 20 miles of constant fast/turn/hill/brake/turn/potholes/valley/turn/gas/turn/slow driving. Because of this I wanted to tighten up my suspension so I didn't feel like I was about to roll over, and not be able to feel the road conditions I was on, heh.
I think I can get a "softer" ride with more rubber since most of the performance is in the suspension, but I don't want to add to mushiness. Not sure about what stiffness in the sidewall would possibly help achieve this balance.
Ride results can be designed/estimated fairly well, but it's largely an issue of personal preference. There is a direct give and take, so unless you are 100% in one direction or the other, everything is a compromise and almost every action has a converse result. It's a bummer since making changes is usually an expensive hassle. For me, I need to have performance on my more challenging roads and will give up a little of the soft ride on smooth roads...but that's not a problem since the roads are smooth.
I'm looking at getting new tires around New Years and fine tuning my suspension at that time (possibly adjusting R.A.S. and coil over height and making a 1/2" rake) which also affects the ride.

I'm updating here. I wound up changing out my stock R20 44 offset rims with these new 18" ones with an 18mm offset. 33" wheels. the ride is a huge improvement. I don't think I need to replace the shocks like I thought. It's much softer like I enjoy. no more spilled coffee over minor potholes. The 18 offset was a great call. Handles so much better too. Just a better ride. Sish I had done it sooner. This is a 2017 FX4 sport edition. I took off all stickers when I bought it in 2019. MPG is close to 20 on the highway and 17-18 in the city. the spedometer is off a bit so it's hard to say exactly. Had my shocks checked and they're fine, but thought I'd need new ones to achieve my goal. I don't. I have 2" level on the front with just a puck sort of thing. I love the look it gave me but also more importantly, I love the way it drives with that.
