Default VIN Decoder

Quick question, how accurate is the VIN decoder tool? I am new here, and I am still on my "dora the explorer" stage on the forum haha

When I put in the VIN it came back as being a XLT model instead of a Lariat. Not that it matters really. The truck has black leather interior and I love how comfortable and how nice it is to be inside of the cabin even for long trips. The badges on the fenders say Lariat and the Ford dealer I bought it from listed it as a Lariat. Here are some reasons why I am now in doubt: my truck is 4x2. I now see most Lariats are 4x4. My truck has a column shifter, most Lariats have the console shifter. I also do not have a sliding rear window as some Lariats I've seen. What do you guys think? I think the dealer cheated me haha again, is all good. I love the comfort the truck has. I just thought it was odd.

look it up on google. 7 out of 10 times I get a free carfax before I make a decision on an auto loan application (loan officer). it may also tell you the trim. or PM it to me and I can look it up on our NADA.

Thanks man, I did put it on google and it came up with a free VIN and it shows it is indeed a Lariat. Now that you mention it, I do have the Carfax from the dealership so I'll wait until i get off work and check it out.

I'll double check my Carfax once I get home. I appreciate the time to look at my rant :P

This site is awesome. My truck isn't even built yet and it gave me a window sticker. It will be interesting to see if it matches the one that comes with the truck.

Try this:
