Default very loud clank!

Ok, so I have an 05, fx4, 85k miles on it. Lifted it 6". I have been having problems with the 4wd since the lift. I have no idea what could be wrong.

picture this:

your wheels are straigt, you engage 4h, and start backing up slowly,
you turn the wheel all the way clockwise, then it feels like somethings
holding the car, you give it a bit more gas, moves about an inch, then bang!
so loud you would think you broke something, moves freely another bit, and then the same.
as if it was skipping something.

here's what I have done so far, I replaced both actuators, replaced both hubs. I haec checked for vacuum, and it's doing its job.

Any ideas on what I should be looking at? it would seem that the noise is on front.

maybe CV axles? didn't take them apart, or worse, transfer?

Thank you tons.!

are you on dry pavement doing this? because your tires need to be able to slip on something in 4wd on a turn. If my daughter is playing in the truck and engages 4wd and i don't notice it and try to back out and turn the wheel it will stop the truck... if i give it enough gas to get by that, the tires skid on the pavement.

SOLVED!

that loud bang would do it anywhere, even on dirt.
the whole car would shake, and it was hard to pinpoint.
a friend even got under the car, and just then he was able to
see that the clunck came from the front left wheel.

turns out, after putting a new actuator, the problem was gone!

what bugs me, is that the actuator, fairly new, was not returning enough when the vacuum was of. I think it WAS NOT an original replacement part.
like the spring in it was weak.

so, they may appear to be ok, but then NOT!

cheers!

So, here's an update, a bad one, the noise, at first thought it was gone. but NOOO. I now have replaced, hubs, actuators, vacuum solenoid, vacuum lines and check valves. and I put it 4wd, grinding noise, like teeth skipping. took out the cv axles, they're ok, I am going nuts!!!! it only does the noise when engagin 4wd, that's it. What else should i try?????

Have you check the vacuum to the hubs?
Check with a gage on both sides.
Also there are check valves that get dirty and don't function properly.
I checked mine on my 08 2 years ago and I could blow air thru one of them from both ends.
They are 1 way valves so that shouldn't happen.

@ from NH, I did not check vacuum, because, the whole system is brand new, I have tested the actuator without the cv axles and they do their job. tubing is brand new, check valves are brand new. thanks!
