Upper radiator hose Gates clamp question
Well I had my radiator cleaned and repaired due to small leak. I inspected all of the hoses (~130k miles) and everything still looks good. One spot on the upper radiator hose that looks weak. I have not been able to find the OEM hose that matches the numbers on the hose, Rockauto shows two motorcraft for the upper hose for truck. I am thinking of just going with Gates since I can get it faster and I think I've used them before. I've been researching and Gates now recommended this "shrink" clamp I do not like. Has anyone used the Gates upper radiator hose with the OEM tension clamps? Did it fit over the OD of the new Gates hose, was fit up good? (I do not like the worm clamps). Thanks.

Ok thanks for the reminder... I still can't believe Gates wants you to use these crazy heat shrink tube clamps... I can't imagine doing that without any clamp at all. I do know rubber expands most than metal but still find it hard to believe.

2007 f150 4.6L V8, stock, cleaned, and maintained by me …. ~140,000 miles.... only issue I had was the drive shaft clunk issue, but fixed that pretty easy.
