upper control arm ball joints bad, what else should i replace
Well like the title says, both side ball joints are going bad on the upper control arms. I am wondering what all I should replace. I am going to buy new upper control arms and don't know what else I need to buy. Thanks guys

Depending on what year and if it's a 4WD or 2WD it will make a difference on replacing parts. You may want to consider replacing lower ball joints as well. I assume you're replacing the upper A-arms because of aesthetics or damage. There are pivot bushings on the A arms that should be done while it's that far apart.

It is a 2004 (newer body style) 4x4. I am replacing them mostly because I want new ones that are black. Are the lower ball joints hard to replace?

They're all a pain in the butt to replace if you don't have a press and the other tools. I have beat them out many times before but it's not pretty. When you have it all apart you can take them (lower a-arms) to a small machine shop and have them press out the old ones and press the new ones. $50 to $75 usually to do both.

MOOG Part # CK80308 {#4L3Z3084AA, 4L3Z3084AB, 7L1Z3084A, 9L3Z3084A, K80308} Problem Solver; Complete Arm w/Ball Joint, Front Right Upper; Incl. powdered-metal gusher bearing to allow grease to penetrate bearing surfaces; Incl. bushing
Will these work? I have the same thing just for the Left side also. They are from rockauto.

Usually you just need the upper arms complete and lower BJ's. The 4wd press is free at Auto Zone, ie loaner program. I had to get a new one recently because I can't find my other one STILL.
Anyway, a good one is only $65. Here's how you load it up to press in a lower, -
