Hey everyone, thanks for having such a great place to come and ask questions!

I just bought a 2017 F-150 Platinum 4x4 with the 701A Group as well as Trailer Tow Package, but it has the regular power mirrors on it (BLIS, LED Spot, 360 Camera, Power Folding), and I was hoping to upgrade to tow mirrors. I'd like the OEM ones if possible, but all the posts I've found are for lower spec trucks that don't have these existing mirrors with all the buttons and power stuff in place.

Does anyone have a pointer to another post, or somewhere I can look up what I need? I know I'd need the mirrors (obviously), would I need new switches, door modules or wiring harnesses?

All you should need are a set of tow mirrors with the same features as what you have.


Edit, I wasn’t thinking about the power extend.
That may require a different switch in your door, and not sure if any Forscan changes needed.

 

Well.. that was quick! Thanks! Do you happen to know where I can find the part numbers for those mirrors? Someone said find an existing car with the features you want, but I don't know what to do from there... where do I plug that vin number in to ensure I get the right parts?

Here are the part numbers for a 2016 year model. I do not believe there are any changes for 2017, but 2018 (I believe) changed the location of the outside temperature sensor.
FL3Z-17683-AJ Ford F-150 Lh Left Driver Side Chrome Finish Mirror.
FL3Z-17682-AJ Ford F-150 Rh Right Passenger Side Chrome Finish Mirror
FL3Z-14529-BA Window Switch

The window switch is necessary to get power to extend and retract.

 

A couple of documents providing additional information. Your truck should be plug and play with the new door switch. Also, I had to drill a new hole in the door frame. The standard mirror has three mounting bolts. The towing mirror has four and the extra hole was not pre-drilled on my truck. After drilling, I primed and applied touchup paint to the hole, so my install took two days, with about 30 minutes to actually swap the mirrors and swithc.
