I've got a 16 F150 Screw 2.7 Eco 2w dr. 3.31 rear axle. Took it to Virginia with loaded bed and three dogs. In a head wind most of the way due to the hurricane we just had and got 25.3 miles per gallon on 89 octane. With a tail wind I can sometimes reach 26mpg. This is traveling at 70mph. Checked miles and gallons used and the truck meter is on the money.

So I have a 2018 F-150 Lariat w/6" lift kit running Nitto Grappler II AT 35" x 12.5 tires all around. No other mods. My gas mileage in the city varies between usually 14-15, expected. Here is my problem, just got back from San Antonio from AZ about a 1600 mile trip and my MPG average was just below 12 mpg!! In the words of Vince Lombardi, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" OH YEAH HAVE A 5.0 COYOTE ENGINE

That might be an answer as the speed limit is 80 mph east of Van Horn Tx until almost into San Antonio!! And I was on cruise at 80 that whole way and back!! Thanks.

There you go. Lifting and high rolling resistance tires defeat the aerodynamics Ford built in for higher speed efficiency. I was seeing 21 in mine @ 80. I am REALLY liking my new RWD Platinum, 20-22 MPG consistently, and I aint babying it either.

Went from Florence, SC to Louisiana yesterday on one 36 gal. tank with cruise control set at 68 in a 70 zone. Here's the read out during that cruise - and the meter has been calibrated to hand calc so it's accurate:
If you just cruise along, and don't have to stop and go, these trucks will get amazing MPG. By the next fuel up, it had climbed a couple more tenths than that, and was only off by .1 mpg from Fuelly - and the meter was less by .1 than the hand calc!
Fuel economy on this 2018 pleases me greatly. I think 3.55 gears might be the "sweet spot" with a 10 speed for mpg?

I think you are right on the gearing. The 18 I have now is getting a bit better than my 14 with 3.15 gearing did. When not towing, mine has been consistently above 20 MPG, closer to 21 even with head winds. I have NO complaints in the fuel economy department, very pleased with it in fact. The only painful part is filling the 36 gallon tank every week. Getting 760 miles between fills though!

Just got back from another CL run to get a new tailgate for the truck! It was close to 200 miles round trip, and I filled up when I got back and here's the numbers - 215.5 miles / 10.110 gallons = 21.32 mpg!!! That's the best ever!

2018 Lariat 4X4 5.0V8 6" Lift 35"x12.5 Tires
Doing 80 on cruise gets 11.5 MPG, anyone else with a similar setup getting the same gas mileage? 70-75 MPG gets me 13-15MPG, anyone else getting these MPG with the same/similar setup? City driving gets 13.5-14.5 MPG
