He did get an estimate- I just chose to ask here if the pricing is typical.

definitely paid a premium on these IMO
  • Replaced battery- Legend Premium AGM 36mo ($450!)
  • New spark plugs- Iridium 1X ($799)
  • Throttle body/fuel system service ($272)

There's other line items that could have easily been done in the driveway with a youtube tutorial.

Transmission service ($736)
Oil change ($155)

This is my husband's truck & has been a solid trouble free vehicle. We hope to move out of the country in 3 years, so want to keep the truck running well until then. We've used this shop in our small city several times. I just wanted an idea if the pricing is inline with other independent shops. I do realize prices have gone up on everything- yikes! Hope my low mileage Ford Edge lasts 3 more years too!

Thank you for feedback!
whoa, what a wallet flush!

AGM batteries are not cheap. I paid $300 three years ago for my Odyssey AGM from NAPA.

Ouch. I paid $7 for my most recent cabin air filter and replaced in all of 5 minutes.

The items/pricing seems quite high to me. I just had "the works" oil/tire etc. service for $87. Other pricing seems high as well. My guess is 20-30% high. But, you want it to run well for the next 3 years, it should do that.

Talk about going for a ride..

Even up in Canada that's 3 times the cost!

New oddessy agm battery i can get for 375 cdn
Spark plugs, pack of 8 130$
Now figure out the exchange rates and a oddessy is 290 and plugs are 70.

800US for spark plugs is a bigger scam then covid....i paid 13$ for mine and had them changed in a little over a hour.
i would never go back to that dealer... 450$ for a battery for a gasoline engine is nuts to.

just curious - why didn’t you ask for opinions or shop other quotes BEFORE agreeing to those charges ?
