Key position. Can it be changed?

Key position. Can it be changed?
I noticed that the angle of entry for the key into the ignition is not natural compared to every vehicle I've ever owned with the ignition in the steering column. The natural position of holding the key would position the angle of the key slot at the 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock position when looking straight at the key insert. I noticed that my ignition slot is positioned at 2 o'clock/8 o'clock. This forces me to actually look at the ignition slot when starting due to "not knowing" where the key slot is.
Can this be changed? I noticed the owners manual even shows what the different positions of the key are and it starts with the "off" position at 9 and 3. I think that would still be better than the 2 and 8 position. Any feedback is appreciated.
