Thanks! That's no fun, dealer found it down in Columbia which is about 2 hours away and went and picked it up for me...last 09 FX4 they had on the lot and they were starting to make room for the 2010s. I was happy when I got that phone call saying it was available!

Yeah I was a little anxious and with a trade I was not really in the driver's seat. I would have taken Blue Jean Metallic also. I kind of wanted a Crew Cab too but, I was already past my limit on a budget so, I could not go any higher. They seem to only have that Blue Flame in FX4 or STX. I ended up with Sterling Gray and it's a pretty nice color too.....but, that blue...it really POPS!

I second the awesome wheels. They look perfect on that truck. Nice balance. The chrome is done well and it says "cool truck".

Thanks!!! I love the way it looks. Its funny how something like wheels can completely change the way a truck looks.

fringe_remnant,

If you look at the photos of my truck, it has a different model of a Jason Cap. It is however a SC with a 6.5 foot box.

Default 2010 XLT Chrome Package

Here is my new(to me) 2010 F150 XLT w/chrome package. I think I'm pretty rare though because I'm a young(19yo) guy who likes chrome, it's shiny!

Thanks Green Gem... your pic really show off the cap well.. https://www.f150forum.com/f38/green-...0/#post3092308

Ford's desire to put a lip spoiler on the rear of the bed sure make detailing the caps in at that location a difficult proposition, from an aesthetic perspective. The rear corners hang over the edge of the truck in order to cover the lip, for example.

The Jason looks like a quality unit. Always hard to tell from pics on colour and paint match, especially on the flake metallics. Are you happy with your paint?

fringe_remnant,

My only complaint with the cap is that the bottom one inch is a bit wavier than I would like. I purchased it when Jason had a special going. It is, I think, their top model (or close to it). I added no charge extras like the flip down solid front window (a flip down slider was also availible), the reinforced top (in case I wanted to add roof racks later) and a couple other things (more no charge items were available). It is carpet lined and has an inside light and an LED third brake light. The lower lip at the tailgate is painted to match the cap.

As for the paint, it may be slightly off, but it is a pretty good match. It is much closer than my taillight covers. These colours change so much in different light conditions and over different contours, you would have to be really looking to see a difference in the colour.

I went with this model to get away from the external window frames. The winter salt up here corroded the frames on my last one. It was, however 14.5 years old.

All in all, I purchased this cap for only two or three hundred dollars more that the same dealer wanted for a solid flat cover from Jason. So, see if Jason is offering any promotions. I think it took about three weeks to be built and shipped to my dealer.

This is the fourth cap I have owned. I had a Fibreline (company gone), two Leers (one cracked the first winter) and this Jason. So far, I would say that this one was the best quality and certainly the best bang for my buck.

Good luck with your choice.

Green Gem
