Default Interesting Mileage Comparison

My F150 is almost exclusively driven on the highway to and from work, about a three hour trip one way, and I have averaged 14.1 L/100km.

The wife's Fusion 4 cyl is driven exclusively in our little town, with a stop sign on every block, and short little trips. Lots of idle time and warm ups. Her car has averaged 14 L/100km.

I kinda get a kick out of seeing a 5.0 getting the same average consumption as a little 4 banger..

What does your F150 get for mileage doing short little trips with idle time?

I'm not sure. I have not reset the calculator for quite some time, but I have seen as high as 26 L/100Km. If I really baby it, I can coax 10-12 out of it on the highway, but that isn't my driving style.

On the flip side, the fusion gets 6-8 L/100Km on the highway driving normally.

Seriously? First, you aren't comparing them fairly at all. The Fusion is doing more city driving. There's no way your truck would be doing the same in similar driving environments.

Yup. I know that. As I said, I get a kick out of the fact that they are both reading the same. A small 4 and a mighty 5.0..
