Default Truck not starting

Hope someone here can help without me having to spend a small fortune at the dealership.

I own a 2013 F150 FX2 w/ the 5.0. About a week ago I installed a new battery and had no issues until tonight when the truck wouldn't start. It'll try and turn over but after a few seconds it quits trying (gotta love electronic ignition). I read in the owners' manual that after a battery change certain steps need to be taken so the computer can "relearn". I didn't do this as it didn't say anything about the truck possibly not starting.

Do I need to disconnect the battery, re-connect and carry out the steps in the manual? I'm at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Have you checked any of the primary ignition related fuses first of all?

Not yet...I plan on doing that tomorrow morning. I checked out the owners manual online and saw two that stick out: starter relay and fuel pump relay power. I also might run this by the mechanic that swapped out the battery as he is a friend of the family and very trustworthy. Taking to the dealership will be my absolute last resort. Thank you!

Unplugging the battery will, indeed, reset your computer. It will need to relearn (steps are indicated in your Owner's Manual I believe , but this is most likely not the cause of your issue here. The engine should start normally. If it stops cranking and the battery is new, it's because there's an issue such as the fuel pump not sending fuel to the injectors or etc.
