I voted for number 3. If I'm going to be putting out any amount of big bucks, the truck is going to be exactly what I want and the colour I want! And it would be RED!

I usually arrive at the dealership with a 'draft board' that represents the values I place on each feature plus any must haves and don't wants. Color is low on the list.

Completely understand about your draft board,...I picked red because it's always been my favorite colour.

I want certain options and the color can be anything but black! Usually.

I'm on my 3rd new f150 in 8 years, 1st one was red, 2nd was Kodiak Brown, current one is Magnetic Grey.

I go in with a list of options I want and find the trucks that meet my needs then pick the color I like best as long as it doesn't have black interior, infact all my trucks have had light tan interiors and doubtfull I'll ever buy anything different..

I guess I'm in the minority and went with #2. Except for a short list of colors, I'm pretty much game for any color as long as it has most of the options I want and/or has some really good incentives. If I was better off financially where I could order a truck, then I'd definitely pick #3 and get the exact color and options that I want.

My first new car was a Ranger. My dad and I shopped and found a vehicle and price I liked. When we got home, my mother asked how it went. "I bought a Ford Ranger." When my mother asked what color it was, my dad and I just looked at each other. Neither of us could remember what color it was. So, I guess it is genetic.

I am not a chrome guy or didn't used to be, maybe I am just getting older but my new favorite of all the F150's I see in my travels is the Ingot Silver Lariat with chrome package.
