Default Truck beds

If 8' is considered a long bed, and 6.5' is considered a short bed, what do you call the 5.5' bed?

I don't think the terms "long bed" and "short bed" are used much anymore. If I were to consider a bed long it would be the 6.5 bed and a short bed would be the 5.5 bed. I know the 8 ft beds are available but fairly rare in most F150s other than a few regular cab trucks.

I call it a baby bed.

I cant stand the looks of a supercab with a 5.5' bed.

An 8' bed is something that won't fit in my garage.

But that is something like 60-70% of them, if you meant on the screw, if not more.

When I was pricing out my truck I didn't know which one was more common (5.5 or 6.5). The more research I did I found out that the 5.5 is much more common. Also, every dealer I went to did and still does have about 90% 5.5 screws on the lot. When I see new shipments come on the trailer (at my down the street Ford dealer) there are almost always only the 5.5s and maybe one 6.5, if any. This might be more common for this area, but this in Georgia. Only about 3 out of ever 5 vehicles here is a truck.

Sorry, I was off. Georgia is more like 1.2 in every 3 is a truck. 5.6 Million registered vehicles and 1.8 million of those are trucks.
