Default Tree Sap vs Truck Paint

How bad is tree sap on truck paint? I assume it's not good for it, but it doesn't eat through the paint over time or anything, does it?

Last week the tree I have to now park under deluged my truck with tree sap in less than a 24 hr period. So I washed it that day to get it off (even though I had washed it just a couple days earlier). For the next couple days I parked on the street (which I very much dislike for several reasons), but the last three days I've been able to park in a spot close to, but not under, the tree. Everything is fine until today again I find it somehow randomly with a bunch of tree sap on it again. I'm about to go wash it to clean it off, but I can't necessarily wash my truck every day that the tree decides to throw sap everywhere. So I was wondering how bad is it for the paint if it's left on for a couple days or a week?

The longer you leave it the harder it'll be to get off...sap sucks!

Every once in a while, the trees in my front yard will drop puddles of sap on my truck. If you get to it in a day or two, I've found just good hot water will get it off. Takes a few minutes, but it works.

When hand washing it.. Use tons of soap..It adds lubrication when cleaning it...

All I had to see was "sap" to come up with this. Use Tarminol or Tarminal. I don't know how to say it; it is a paint friendly goo-gone for cars n trucks.

DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT let that stuff stay on your truck, the guy I bought my truck from left it under a tree that dropped sap on the truck and didn't clean it until it hardened like a rock. took half a year before that stuff started coming off
