God dammit, that's terrible! I need to pour Listerine in my eyes to get that sought out. You should have posted a warning, like once you click, you can't unsee this picture.
As for the original post, I don't think that was a bat that did that.

I went to McDonalds and they lady said she worked the night of this incident and there were too many drunk kids to count, and non of them were rowdy enough to need to be removed. Locking Gas Cap is on its way.

That looks like a single hit, not multiple blows, and I don't see how anyone with a baseball bat could swing hard enough to dent like that without breaking their arm. Maybe I'm wrong, but that looks like something other than what has been described.
As an aside, we get baseball bat vandals on our road hitting mailboxes. I bought the heaviest steel mailbox I could find, it's like 1/4 steel. There is a -small- dent on one side where someone came along and -tried- to flatten it. Not sure if they broke their arm or not,but I'm sure they regretted it

I'm in California from a very liberal area and it's happened to me (truck is always covered in mud and I have hunting stickers). Someone planted pointed-tip 10mm bolts under each of my tires one night. Next morning I could hear them slapping the pavement as I was driving.
Crazy thing was that two of the bolts were implanted in my tires' lugs but didn't puncture through, and the other two bolts snapped in half and didn't pierce rubber. KM2s are TOUGH.
About a year earlier someone keyed my trucks entire side from headlight to taillight, that one was a bummer.
