Transmission service question

Hi, got another question. I have a 2007 F150, 5.4 V8 with the 5 speed auto trans. Truck has 136500 miles on it. I bought it about three months ago but didn't really get any service records on it.
I want to service the transmission and want opinions on what to do. Local transmission shop recommends dropping the pan, flushing the system and installing a new filter and fluid.
Ford dealer only recommends dropping the pan and changing the filter and NOT flushing the system. Says high mileage like mine flushing could dislodge particles that could clog the small openings in the valve body and cause transmission failure. That makes sense to me but wonder what the general consensus/experience of others is.
Thank you.
Lee

I would just do the old spill and fill. and for the record you only have a 4 speed auto

Ford doesn't recommend flushing on any of their vehicles newer or older.

Drop pan, change filter and if that trans has a torque converter drain plug, drain it also. DO NOT flush it!

weird. My 2001 was flushed multiple times by the dealer at their rec.

i dont recall the onwers manual indicating which one is the right choice.

Don't let opinions keep you from doing something that seems right. Fluid, gaskets and filters are available to all who find a reason to service the transmission.

Dealers like flushing because it's easier. Connect a machine to the lines and turn it on. Instead of removing the pan and filter and cleaning the magnet. Put it all back then pour in the transmission fluid and check fill levels. Since there is no drain plug it's very messy job.

The 6R80 trans cannot be flushed, only the cooler can be flushed, the older transmissions it was possible and recommended provided it was done at a normal interval.

Not sure which trans the 07 has but considering the mileage it's most definitely not a good idea.
