Question Transmission downshift problem

My vehicle is a 2023 F-150 XLT - V8 - RWD - 37,400 miles

Has anyone else run across this issue? This happened to me a few times, but this time I THINK I got a better handle on what's going on. In the past it appeared to me that after passing someone at highway speeds, the transmission seemed to go into neutral, but the other day I caught what happened. I was cruising along around 60ish and went to pass another vehicle. I mashed the gas and was able to pass, but after a second, the truck lost power. Before passing, the transmission was running in 10th gear, when I lost power, I looked down at the dash and found the trans had shifted all the way down to 5th gear and at this point, I assume the RPM pushed against the governor, hence the loss of power. This doesn't appear to happen all the time but when it does, it's a little un-nerving. Any ideas?? Thanks, Vic...

PS. I forgot to mention, when this problem occurs, I smell a burning smell in the truck, it smells like that "skunk pot" that people smoke today, WEIRD!!!

The earlier models hav an issue in the transmission with the lead frame causing a downshift. Not sure if this is what could be going on with your model. Hopefully others will chime in.
