Smile Cold air intakes good or bad?

I was wondering i know a lot of people have cold air intakes in their trucks is it worth it? is there really a difference? can you feel the difference? i want to hear your opinions anything helps Thanks

i have a cold air intake on my 02 f150 4.2 v6....i dont know about actual horsepower numbers but it helped the throttle respone and engine seems to run smoother

throttle response is all you will notice if that's all you do to your truck. If you add an exhaust to that and a programmer your going to notice a lot bigger difference.

You didn't specify model and engine, but for the most part they don't do much. Google "Gotts mod" for a cheap and effective DIY intake mod.

Save your money and do what boilerup15 suggests.

is it really necessary to add in the pvc pipe, or does just removing the snorkel do about the same thing?

If the objective is cooler air, then obviously you need the snorkel to get to air outside the engine compartment.
