Default traded up

Well, after years of good service from my 05 STX extended cab 4x4 (modified of course), I finally broke down. After a long, PITA (literally) trip to help my daughter move back from Houston...we dropped off her stuff at our house and went straight to our favorite dealership. Traded in the 05 and left with a Tuxedo Black '13 FX4 crew cab, loaded out (leather, nav, HID headlights, Sony system, 3.73 gears, 20in wheels, etc etc).

To the right, you can see a little bit of my old truck sitting next to it. Today, starts the mods. All the stickers are coming off. This week, I'll be getting with a guy that works with my wife (he does body & paint on the side) to get my emblems all painted body color. After that, I'm figuring exhaust first, then intake & tuner. Later on I'll probably either level it or put a 4in lift and some 35s.

It amazed me the difference in ride quality between the 13 and my 05. My wife said she couldn't believe we were riding in a 4x4. The seats are a MUCH appreciated improvement. She was also appreciative of the X plan program, because that brought the price down considerably (from 49K down to 39 after rebates).

Oh yeah, and I really appreciate the improvement in power of the Coyote 5.0 over the 4.6!

It's a partner program that some companies have with Ford. My company gets deals with Ford, GM, Toyota, and Volvo. Essentially, the Xplan gets you the vehicle for dealer cost plus the shipping/destination fees and a $200 paperwork fee...then you subtract the rebates and trade in (if you have one).

It coulda been $2000 or so less if you put the screws to em or shopped around. I've always found better than x plan or partner deals. But it's sweet.

$2k less than what we got it for would've been less than employee pricing. I don't care how good you are, you are not getting a dealership to take a loss on a new vehicle!

xplan caps the doc fees at $100. you shouldn't have paid more than that.
