Default interchangeable?

I have a 2007 Ford f150 king ranch. I purchased it used with a second set of rims & tires. I installed new rubber on the existing tires before winter, & in the spring I installed the original 20 inch rims. I think that the TPMS sensors were removed from the factory tires 20 inch rims & re-installed in the spare set of 18 inch rims, because the tpms monitor never went off until I changed rims & tires.

I have removed one tire from the rim to have a cracked rim repaired, & found that it was missing the TPMS sensor, & then took it to a tire shop where they tested each tire & said they were not installed. Can I replace with either type, band or valve stem, & have them work. The rims have band installed but the sensors are removed.

It is annoying having the monitor beep while driving. If I could disable the monitoring system for the summer tires & rims I would look into that as well.

Any good place to purchase a complete set of either style

Thanks

Just keep the stock tires and wheels properly inflated and keep them in your bed!

Ford started using the snap-in style sensors after september 2011. Prior to that various models of f-150s and expeditions came with the banded sensor. Not all of them were equipped. Vehicles with banded sensors usually had a marking on the wheel where the stud holes are. Said something like, "sensor inside". Not sure of the exact wording. For made the snap-in sensor permanent in 2012. You could also purchase snap in sensors for your new wheels and have them installed and programmed to your truck by either a tire dealership or a ford dealer.

Yes, that would work... too bad I use my bed for hauling stuff. It would be hard loading my quad with the tires in the back.

Wheelbarrow tire sounds good. Wondering if stem sensors need to spin?

UPDATE: I purchased a set of VDO Redi-Sensors (92-3301) from NAPA for $45.00 a piece. These are the valve stem style sensors, & they came up as a replacement for a 07 F-150. To replace the factory installed band sensors was about $145.00 a piece.

I thought my truck came with out the TPMS option. I put new wheels/tires on at 300 miles and drove it 10000 miles with no errors. Bent one of my wheels the other day and swapped back to factory and now the damn thing alerts every time I start the truck. WTF? Can it be disabled?

I've heard rumors that the 433 MHz sensors will also work on 2009-2012 f150, is it true ?

I know ford uses 315 MHz but, I have a set of 433 MHz and was wondering if anyone has had these work with the f150 before I install them.
