With that little weight you will not need anything other than a hitch. I assume and I know that is dangerous but I assume you have a 2" receiver under the bumper. Put a hitch in there and off you go. You only need extra items likes brake controller and weight distributing hitches for much larger loads like campers and some boats.
However, don't forget it is back there. Your truck will pull it with ease so don't forget it is there. You don;t want to be going 80 down the interstate be smart.

Truck towing apps?
What is that?
I tow a trailer about 5000 lbs, when I hitch up, the truck tells me, that the trailer is connected and what the brake gain is, and away I go.
Is there something to be set? Where, how?
2012 5 liter, 4x4, w/tow package.

You have a built in brake controller it sounds like. So no there is nothing else you need to do. Also 5000lbs is still light enough to tow without a weight distribution hitch. Those of us with 8000LB campers and non factory brake controllers need the WD hitch and an aftermarket controller that have to be set up for our truck/trailer combo.
