Fold up hard cover with a large storage bin underneath.
This one fits perfectly under the tonneau, from menards.

Good ideas. I got the G2 installed today with the Bakbox 2. I feel better now. To me these trucks lines just look better with a hardcover.

I have a Bakfip VP and Bakbox. It holds a variety of stuff that doesn't get used very often so I don't go in there much. For the most part you don't even know it's there and the bed is nearly completely usable. If it is in the way, simply empty it out and fold it up. Over all I am very satisfied with the combination.

On the other hand, if I had to go into the box every day I don't think I'd like it as you have to fold the cover all the way to the front to access the box. This is where that swing case would be handy. But, the way I use my bed, I can see the swing case being a hassle and in the way too.

It all depends on how you'll use it.

Edit:

I've considered redesigning the Bakbox mounts to have a quick latch and slide more easily. That way it can live mostly at the rear for quick access but easily be slid to the front and locked in place.

Sounds like a good idea. Now I'm thinking I need the OEM bed extender. But hell I don't haul much of anything.

I have a diamond plate style toolbox. Bought it for a 99 XLT I used to have. Can't imagine not having it on the truck after 16 years of it being there.

Never had a bed cover though, maybe I am missing out.
