Tonneau Cover Help
#21
My neighbor has the BAK F1 and I really like this cover. I went to look at a local dealer and they only stock the G2.... not having them side by side I can't see the difference.
Thoughts?

I also have the bakflip f1. It's a good cover but mine leaks a little. They are NOT 100 percent water tight. I can live with a few drips. I have only had mine for 2 months.
Stay away from the UnderCover Flex cover. Leaked bad and when through two in two weeks. They had a manufactures defect and just like the name the hard cover Flexs with just a little bit if weight. Not good for Canadian winters. The bakFlip F1 in Ontario cost about $1200 plus tax. If you leave near Toronto you can get it a little cheaper.
The G2 has less warranty and can't hold as much weight in top of it either. 2013 ford covers are still made by bakflip but they are now the F1.

I actually just emailed Extang asking if it's safe to leave the cover on the truck when going through a car wash. I'm concerned about the high pressure drying that occurs at the end. On my old truck, it really made the cover flop around, but it was secured by many snaps on a rail. Considering the Trifecta only has a few mounting points, I do not want to risk damaging the cover or canvas. In the winter, I'll often take my truck through the car wash to get the salt off. I'll report back with what they say.

Sorry, completely forgot to report back. They responded with the following:
Good afternoon Jason:
Thank you for contacting the Extang Corporation. You are able to go through a carwash with your Trifecta cover. As long as you have everything latched down and secured you won't have any problems. Also, make sure you get the basic car wash - no wax upgrades these will harm the cover.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you,
