I have the Tyger brand tri-fold from Amazon. Have had it for all of about two weeks, but I've gone through the automatic car wash on the works a couple times and also driven in the rain back from the airport with luggage in the bed. For practical purposes it's water proof. Actually I think mine might be completely water tight so far, it's the tailgate that lets some water in...I'll probably get some of the seal/strips to add to the tailgate area sometime.

$229 shipped for the 5.5' bed is what I paid, they have other sizes too

The following photos were taken right after going through the automatic car wash. Dry front of the bed/corners, some water through from the tailgate. Great result IMO. I should also trim the plastic on the frame rail there where those clamps attach.

Are the tyger trifold covers only accessable if the tailgate is down? Looking for something somewhat secure, that can withstand an Alaskan winter. Thanks

I mean, you have to drop the tailgate to reach the clamps that open the back section so you can fold it open, so it is "not accessible" with the gate up and locked...but that's within the context of a lightweight tonneau that, like all of them, is a pocket knife away from being gaped open so I don't think I'd use the word secure. Out of sight out of mind + willingness to do obvious damage in order to get in level of security but that's all.

Thanks for the information, do you notice any sound from it flapping in the wind at highway speeds?

No sound. It has a little bit of a surface shimmy I'd call it at speed, but it's not enough to where I'd say it's flapping, and there's no sound
