Default The time has come for a tonneau...

It's time for me to pick a tonneau cover. I'm looking for opinions as to the best one to pick. On past trucks I've had snap covers and a bakflip g2. Am I looking at, in no particular order: Access Larado, TCW FX3, and BK G2. Each has it's pluses and drawbacks. Is there a brand out there I should be looking at? Are there any smoking deals to be had thru this forum?

I like the look of it down, but thats a hefty roll at the back of the cab.

Yep but it don't block the rear view like the back flip ones do. Don't have to remove anything when toting a load either.

Just looked it up. Nicest hard cover I've ever seen, but they are pretty expensive. For half that price I get lifetime on my soft one and it also roles up all in one shot too.

Yeah it is a little pricey but it's worth every penny, what sold me was the ability to roll it up so I could put my motorcycle in the back and close it up with a secure spot for the loading ramps while I'm out riding, it rolls in and out one handed.

I really like the look of the Roll-X but someone said they had problems with ice in the winter. Also, I can invision where ice or crud in the sides could prevent it from properly closing and latching.

I'm going with the Bakflip VP.

Ice and or snow can pose a problem for anything with moving parts, I remember having to pry the wipers off the windshield one time in Dec in Oklahoma. Down here I don't have that problem.

No crud issues either, my truck is a pavement queen.

I understand and if I didn't live in Minnesota I'd go with Roll-X. At least with a tri-fold there are fewer hinge points to get the ice out of.
