are threads deleted at times?
i was on early this morning and read a thread. wanted to see an update or response but it didn't show in my subscriptions. went through my history and found the thread, clicked on it and got an error.
so are threads deleted? or did the thread poster remove the thread?

Can`t speak for this site, but on the site that I run it happens all the time to threads that are no longer needed/relevant. Not sure about here, but again on the one I run, a poster cannot delete threads. They have to ask a mod/admin to do it.

I am sure they are. I posted on one last night. It's gone now.

Threads are rarely deleted by a moderator unless the whole thread breaks the rules, like the one I just flagged with a Ford dealer pushing Raptors. Sometimes they are moved.

We don't delete a thread; we move it to a better suited forum if we deem it's in the wrong place, or we move it to trash if we deem the thread is causing trouble with forum members. The later is what usually gets members banned as well. In order to prevent the temptation of name calling, chest beating, or any other wrong doings, we will move a thread (and all it's posts) to the trash, but they don't get deleted.
Spam threads are a different issue. They do get deleted, and the spammer is banned.
